I’m number 110,523 in Sarasota’s line. In Manatees lottery with about 133,000 of my closest friends. Orange and Pinellas currently have no appts.

Out of maybe 70 folks I know throughout the US over 65, I literally know only one other person who has not yet gotten their first vaccination. Go Florida!!

Thank you so much, Carrie. I'm getting my shot in Ft Myers Monday. Most folks I know have had to drive to places such as St Pete, Orlando, and elsewhere. Our County's leadership is terribly muscular when it comes to development and political self-perpetuation but certainly hasn't delivered in this competition to protect our citizens. It's nice the City is trying but really it's the County that bore principal responsibility and failed relative to supply, distribution, and communication. Your column is sooo valuable to point out these shortcomings.

Finally got my 1st shot in St Pete’s after waiting forever in Manatee and Sarasota. Publix there was the way to go. Still signing up was not the best but got through and will receive the next shot and n less than 4 weeks

The county, the state, Publix and now the city. Well the city not yet. Isn’t the problem the supply of vaccine? But give Brody an “A” for enthusiasm. Planning not so much.

As Ronald Reagan said - we're here from the government, and we're here to help.

This seems to be normal for this entire debacle, another mess. However, it may take till doomsday to figure out how to execute any plan. And a politician without an ego? That may take till doomsday to find as well.

I haven't been very impressed with this supposed vaccine, which is really an experimental treatment. From personal stories I'm hearing, we may be fortunate that it has been difficult to get. A friend in Tampa - his cousin, a nurse, had and recovered from covid. She was still required to have the shot. That produced a stroke which she also recovered from. She is now refusing the 2nd dose and in danger of losing her job.

Yeah, we're from the government, and we're here to help.
