Congrats on 1000 subscribers. I am not surprised that this has grown so quickly. I've enjoyed everything I've read so far. Rob Beahan sent me a link to the Chronicles a couple of weeks ago, knowing I was looking for a readership beyond Facebook, and a place where I could write about Cascade politics, history, people, and scenery as well as whatever else strikes my fancy. I haven't launched anything yet, but I want you to know you're a source of inspiration. Thanks!
Actually had coffee with a friend yesterday at the new Rise and Nyes on state st. yesterday and she signed up to Chronicles then and there...Got to keep you going Carrie🌻
I would be happy to do a donation or however you decide.... I found that what ever you focused on I became interested. Good luck with your book I look forward to reading it.
Congratulations on reaching a subscriber milestone! You deserve a big following. This community sorely needs journalism that serves the public interest. Consider a voluntary donor option, or maybe the Tampa Bay Times could expand its reach and offer a Sarasota/Manatee County section in their paper. Competition is a good thing, especially when readers can choose between papers that do or don't serve the community interest.
One idea is to designate different days for different topics: Sunday for the stroll; 2 or more days for the subject matter of your books; a local community day and a potpourri day that can be anything, etc. You can get feedback and gauge which topics and stories within those topics are more widely shared. You can use the feedback to write your books and the number of shares and readership to pitch to the publishers. I think people with their specific interests would be more likely to check in to see what you have to say on mental health, for example, on a consistent day of the week. Chris
I agree with John and David. The sponsorship model sounds like a good compromise. Your extensive interests appeal to a large readership. Keep doing what you have been doing. Can't argue with success. Rhana
Carrie, I am more than happy to donate, &/or subscribe. I was devastated when your column was ended. As it is, I barely read the Herald- Tribune. Good luck with everything! ❣️
Congratulations Carrie, we’d be more than happy to convert to a paid subscription when you decide. Your writing is and always has been an important part of SRQ life
Why not go with the "sponsorship" model you mentioned where donations are voluntary? I know I'd kick in some funds to thank and sustain you.
Count me in! Hoping for a book, but thoroughly enjoying your chronicles i the meantime.

What a wonderful photo of the “thank you” on the beach.
