More 'creAtypical' tickets now available!
Due to demand, we've added seating at both of our April 26 shows

Thanks to a very enthusiastic response, we’ve added additional seating for both the 3 p.m. matinee and 7 p.m. performances of “creAtypical” at Sarasota Contemporary Dance on April 26.
This live performance blends original poetry, music, dance and art to explore what it’s like to live with a neurodivergent brain. Every show will conclude with a talkback with the six participating artists, all of whom have lived experience of various kinds, They will share the process of creating the show and the therapeutic benefit they’ve found in tapping art and creativity to manage living with a mental health challenge.

If you tried to get tickets earlier and got a “sold out” message, please return to www.sarasotacontemporarydance.org, and click on “Performances” and then “In Studio” to reserve the newly released seats.
We also still have room at the invitation only dress/tech performance at 7 p.m. on April 25 for behavioral healthcare or arts education professionals. (And others too — until we run out of space — if you can’t make the performances on the 26th). For this show only, please send an email to carrie.seidman@gmail.com or call or text 505-238-0392 to be put on the guest list.
Putting together so many genres in one production has been challenging to say the least! But as we continue to rehearse we’re encouraged by how the the piece is expanding from our original conception. For all the artists involved — most of who either do not typically perform in public or haven’t done so for many years — it’s been a great growing experience as we develop both our art and our bonds with each other.
We’re excited for you to see the final result!
